The food bank is a non-profit, charitable organization that distributes food to those who have difficulty purchasing enough to avoid hunger. It works with intermediaries like food pantries and soup kitchens to provide food to individuals and families in need. Food banks collect, sort, and distribute donated grocery items to local food pantries and meal programs, which then directly distribute locally.
Our ministry supports the food bank of our sister church, Lake Panasoffkee UMC, by collecting personal hygiene products for them to distribute to the needy in their area.
